check_conversion#

popo.estimation.check_conversion(net, dss=None)#

Solve the converted network and the circuit it came from, and compare every bus.

Run this before anything else changes either model’s loading: both engines are solved as they stand. OpenDSS reports one voltage per phase, so its bus voltage is the mean over the bus’s phases; pandapower’s converted model is balanced and reports one. The difference that remains after the nameplate correction is mostly that: an unbalanced feeder represented by a balanced model, which bounds how closely any estimate built on it can match the circuit.

Parameters:
  • net (Any) – A network from to_pandapower(), at its converted loading.

  • dss (Any) – The opendssdirect module with the same circuit compiled. Defaults to importing it.

Return type:

DataFrame

Returns:

One row per bus present in both – bus, vm_opendss_pu, vm_pandapower_pu and difference_pu (pandapower minus OpenDSS).
