Install a voltage-dependent reactive control on every inverter.

This is the mechanism that couples reactive power to voltage. Without it, reactive power is a fixed multiple of active power and the two carry a single degree of freedom, which makes any multi-target result an artefact of the load model rather than a property of the network.

The control loop is damped and its curve referenced to the inverter rating. An undamped loop exceeds the iteration limit while still reporting a solved power flow, which yields reactive power without meaning.

Parameters:

  • dss (Any) – An opendssdirect module with a compiled circuit.

  • curve (VoltVarCurve) – The characteristic to install, carrying the capability it ramps towards and the deadband it holds flat.

  • name (str) – Control name.
