VoltVarCurve#
- class popo.standards.VoltVarCurve(capability, deadband_pu=0.02, limit_pu=0.06)#
Bases:
objectA piecewise-linear Volt-VAr characteristic.
Reactive power is flat inside a deadband around nominal and ramps linearly to the capability limit at the outer voltage points. Absorbing above nominal and supplying below is the sign convention throughout, which is what makes the response oppose the excursion rather than reinforce it.
- Variables:
capability – The reactive capability the curve ramps towards.
deadband_pu – Half-width of the flat region around nominal, in per unit.
limit_pu – Voltage displacement at which the full capability is reached.
- classmethod ieee_1547_default()#
The default characteristic of IEEE 1547-2018, category B.
- Return type:
- reactive_power_pu(voltage_pu)#
Reactive power the curve requests at a given terminal voltage.
- Parameters:
voltage_pu (
ArrayLike) – Terminal voltage in per unit of nominal.- Return type:
- Returns:
Reactive power per unit of rated apparent power. Negative absorbs, which is the response to a voltage above nominal.
Examples
>>> curve = VoltVarCurve.ieee_1547_default() >>> float(curve.reactive_power_pu(1.0)) 0.0
