The phase suffix a single-phase installation at a customer should connect on.

A customer’s array, charger or battery belongs on the phase their own service is on. A UK feeder spreads its single-phase customers across all three phases, and a North American one splits each house across two legs; connecting every installation to phase 1 instead piles a feeder’s whole rooftop export onto one phase, raising it far above the other two.

Parameters:

• dss (Any) – An opendssdirect module with a compiled circuit.

• load_name (str) – The customer’s load.

• default (str) – Suffix for a load that is not single-phase, where no one phase is the customer’s own.

Return type:

str

Returns:

".<phase>.0" for a load on one phase, otherwise default.
