transformer_customers#

popo.network.transformer_customers(dss, transformers, secondary_kv=0.3)#

The customer buses each transformer supplies, found by walking its low-voltage network.

Starting from each transformer’s low-voltage bus, the walk follows enabled lines only. A line never joins a medium-voltage bus to a low-voltage one (only a transformer does), so the walk stays inside that transformer’s own secondary network and collects the buses of the residential loads it reaches. On a feeder with one substation this is every customer; on a North American feeder it is the handful of customers behind each pole transformer.

Parameters:
  • dss (Any) – An opendssdirect module with a compiled circuit.

  • transformers (Sequence[Transformer] | DataFrame) – The transformers, as objects with name and low_voltage_bus, or a frame with those columns.

  • secondary_kv (float) – Passed to residential_loads() to decide which loads are customers.

Return type:

dict[str, list[str]]

Returns:

Transformer name, lower-cased as OpenDSS reports it, mapped to the sorted customer buses its low-voltage network reaches. Secondary networks joined by a line are walked as one.
